DC Worm Gear Motor with Encoder & Cover Data Sheet
Product Overview
The NFP-5840-555-EN is a DC worm gear motor with encoder and protective cover. Therefore, it is suitable for drive systems that need high torque, speed feedback, and stable low-speed output.
In addition, the motor can rotate after power-on. As a result, users can test basic rotation with a suitable DC power supply.
Moreover, users can change the rotation direction by changing the input polarity. Therefore, this motor can support CW and CCW motion in many control systems.
Main Features
- Easy to use: The motor starts after power-on. Therefore, users can test it with a suitable 12V or 24V DC power supply.
- Reversible rotation: Users can change the input polarity to change rotation direction. As a result, the motor supports CW and CCW movement.
- 90° angle installation: The gearbox supports right-angle mounting. In addition, users can use an L-shaped steel bracket for easier assembly.
- Self-locking gearbox: The worm gear can help hold position after power-off. Therefore, it is useful for lift, lock, and position-holding systems.
- Encoder feedback: The AB Hall encoder provides signal output. Moreover, the cover helps protect the encoder from damage.
- Low noise and low service need: The metal gearbox provides stable output. Therefore, it can support long-term drive tasks under proper load.

The protective cover prevents dust and debris from damaging the motor and gears, which is especially helpful in dirty environments. The encoder also helps improve accuracy.
SHNEA PAUL –
The motor also has self-locking gears—when you remove power, the motor perfectly holds its position, which is great for applications like mine where stability is a priority.
Aaron Davis –
This is one of the best compact worm gear motors I’ve used with built-in feedback. The encoder output is clean and accurate, which makes it easy to integrate into closed-loop control systems.
Riya Singh –
The encoder takes position and speed control to a whole new level, and this an excellent worm drive gear motor setup. I will be developing more projects either these motors.🧐

Rotates in both direction. Great price. Quick delivery. Good gearbox motor to have for back and forth rotation with the flick of a switch when use with commutator. The motor does get hot, but not so much that it was a problem for this use.
