LVM-Series AAC Linear Vibration Motors NFP-ELV1411A-A1 Performance
Product Overview
The NFP-ELV1411A-A1 is a compact LRA linear vibration motor for haptic feedback applications. Therefore, it is suitable for wearable devices, silent alerts, and lightweight electronic products.
Unlike conventional brushed DC vibration motors, linear resonant actuators must be driven by an AC signal at the device resonant frequency. Therefore, a suitable LRA driver IC is recommended for stable operation.
In addition, the internal structure is relatively simple. As a result, the main wear parts are the springs, which helps improve service life.
Main Advantages
- Long lifetime: The main internal wear parts are the springs. Therefore, it can offer longer service life than many brushed ERM motors.
- Stable resonant frequency: The motor works at its resonant frequency. As a result, it provides consistent vibration feedback.
- Fast response: The motor has superior rise and fall times. Therefore, it is suitable for precise haptic feedback.
- Flexible connection: Custom FPC and SMD connection methods are possible. In addition, this supports different assembly designs.
LRA Features and Applications

X-Axis Linear Vibration Motor Applications
Wearable Technology Example
Sunu Band is a wearable technology and mobility aid for people who are blind or visually impaired. It uses LVM-series linear vibration motors to provide haptic feedback on the user’s wrist.
Therefore, the vibration pulses can help improve awareness, orientation, direction information, navigation, and time-telling. In addition, this application shows how compact LRA motors can be used in wearable assistive devices.
Reflow Temperature Suggestion
Reflow Temperature Suggest: The typical Pb-free Sn/Ag solder reflow temperature range for NFP-ELV1411A is 240°C to 250°C. Moreover, the recommended time is 40 to 80 seconds over 220°C.
However, the recommended Sn/Pb reflow temperature range is usually less critical. Therefore, minor temperature deviations in equipment and components generally do not create soldering problems.
How to Drive the LRA Vibrator
How to drive the vibrator? Unlike brushed ERM vibration motors, an LRA should be driven by an AC signal at its resonant frequency. Therefore, a dedicated haptic driver IC is recommended.
For example, TI provides LRA driver ICs and evaluation boards. Moreover, the TI DRV2605L haptic driver IC can generate suitable drive signals and provide a library of haptic effects.
In addition, changing the applied voltage mainly changes the vibration amplitude. However, it does not change the vibration frequency in the same way as a brushed ERM motor.

Short Introduction Of LVM-Series Linear Vibration Motors
LRA Working Principle
Due to their fast rise and fall times, NFP linear resonant actuators are suitable for haptic applications. Moreover, their simple internal construction provides high reliability and long life.
NFP LRA motors have an internal mass that oscillates back and forth along the X-axis. As a result, they can deliver sharp and responsive vibration feedback in compact devices.

Resonant Frequency Notes
The vibration frequency of an LRA is fixed at its resonant frequency. Therefore, the driver should match the rated resonant frequency of the motor.
For NFP-ELV1411A-A1, the rated frequency is 150Hz. However, if the applied frequency is above or below the resonant frequency, the motor may produce lower vibration amplitude.
In some cases, if the frequency is far from the resonant point, the motor may produce little or no vibration. Therefore, frequency matching is important for stable haptic performance.
